  FTP means file transfer protocol. It is the standard method used today to transfer files from one computer to another. It is the simplest and most secure way to transfer files. Most of you use FTP all the time, but probably don't even know it.

  HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. This is the stuff the World Wide Web runs on - it happens to be the major language of the internet. HTML can be composed and edited in common text editors that everyone has access to, so you can simply use Notepad if you need to make any edits to your website.
