FTP means file transfer protocol. It is the standard
method used today to transfer files from one computer to
another. It is the simplest and most secure way to
transfer files. Most of you use FTP all the time, but
probably don't even know it.
What does this have to do with my
website?
If you have purchased a website from us, you'll probably
want to use FTP to upload the files we send you to your
server. This will ensure that your website is "live" and
that people are able to view it.
Basics to get you started
The first thing you'll need to do is download and install a
good quality FTP client. I like to use
CuteFTP Pro - they offer a free trial so you can test it
out and see if its right for you.
